Hotel Review| Woraburi Sukhumvit Hotel&Resort: An in-depth look at budget hotel in Bangkok!

Life in Abroad

Hello, this is Toshi.

“I want to stay in a reasonably priced hotel in Bangkok with a good location!,” “I want a cheap hotel, but I don’t want to stay in a dormitory!” etc., Bangkok has many hotels, so deciding a hotel is one huge problem.

In this article, I would like to give a thorough review of the Wolaburi Sukhumvit Hotel & Resort as I stayed there during my last visit to Bangkok.

This article is recommended for those who

  • want to know about a cheap hotel in Bangkok
  • want to know about a hotel with a good location in Bangkok
  • just need to stay in a hotel enough to sleep

So here we go!

Overall rating 【3.0 Stars: Reasonable and comfortable hotel!】

3.0

The overall rating of Woraburi Sukhumvit Hotel and Resort is 3.0 starts!
(This is a personal opition)

This hotel is recommended for those who prioritize staying in a cost-effective hotel compared to others, as their main focus is to explore tourist spots and downtown areas.

This hotel is equipped with the necessary minimum facilities.

Room prices start at about 1200 THB!

FYI, the indicators of evaluation are as follows.
1.0 very disappointed
2.0 disappointed
3.0 fine
4.0 recommended
5.0 highly recommended!

Rooms【3 stars: Fine】

On this trip, I stayed in a “king-size single room”.

The room was larger than you might imagine, with a rather large refrigerator with freezer. Even though it is located in the center of Bangkok, the room has 25 square meters, so even if you have large luggage, you will have no trouble finding a place for storage!

The king-size bedroom has a small counter, TV, and chair; for 5,000 yen, this facility is quite a bargain.

There is a 7-Eleven nearby and street food vendors in the morning and evening. They are very convenient to buy breakfast or some nicknacks.

Since it’s located in a crowded area, you can’t expect much of a view. It’s a convenient city hotel, so you’ll just have to put up with it.

Other than the view, the hotel is neither too nice nor too bad, and is a comfortable hotel to stay in!

Customer service【3 stars: Fine】

Despite the low price, the staff are incredibly kind. They speak English fluently, so I had no trouble understanding them.

They also provided clear instructions for the important Wi-Fi password during my overseas trip!

Although I did not go this time, there is a restaurant and a café on the first floor where breakfast is served.

Bath room【3 stars: Fine】

The bathroom have a simple washbasin, shower room, and toilet, which is common in budget hotels.

The washbasin is not particularly spacious and is minimally compact. It is helpful that there is a shelf under the mirror.

Water pressure was fine in both the hot shower, washbasin, and toilet.

The only thing that bothered me was that even with the shower curtain, the floor would still be wet up at the area in front of the washbasin.

Facilities and equipments【3 stars: Fine】

For an inexpensive hotel, it has a swimming pool and a restaurant/cafe with excellent facilities. I didn’t have time to go there this time, but I would like to visit the rooftop pool (open hours: 7:00-19:00) next time I stay. The restaurant in the first floor was convenient, especially useful for breakfast.

Cost performance【4 stars: recommended!】

Siam station, located in the center of Bangkok, is three train stops away, so it’s not easily reachable on foot, but it’s within a short distance.

You can also stop by the shopping center after sightseeing, so you can enjoy all day. Despite its excellent location and spacious rooms with a pool, the price of 5,000 yen per night is cheap!

Access【2stars:disappointed】

The nearest station is BTS Nana station in central Bangkok. There is a 7-Eleven conveniently located nearby!

Also, the closer you get to the station, the busier it gets and the more sports bars and restaurants you will find. There are also currency exchange stores scattered along the road to the station, which is convenient if you run out of cash.

My personal concern is that it takes about 10 minutes to walk from the hotel to the Nana station. It was not too stressful, but later in the trip I began to think that I would be happier if it was a little closer since I was going sightseeing. This was a concern for me, and that is why I gave it a 2 stars rating.

One thing I have personally learned is that hotels must be near the train stations. If possible, within 5 minutes. I’ve learned that the sidewalks in Bangkok can be bumpy, hot in the middle of summer, and crowded, so it is better to be closer location if it’s possible. Especially after walking around for sightseeing, the walk from the nearest station to the hotel felt very long.

Summary of Review on Woraburi Sukhumvit Hotel and Resort

Now for the summary!

  • It’s a cheap and comfortable hotel!
  • Close to the center of Bangkok & simple facilities, recommended for those whose main purpose is sightseeing!
  • Recommended for those who want to enjoy the pool as well!

The location is great, and there are no particular inconveniences; it’s just the right hotel. It takes about 10 minutes from the nearest station, but if you don’t mind walking, I can recommend this hotel.
